Dr. Cooper is an Associate Professor in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science; she holds an Adjunct faculty position at the University of Calgary in the Department of Computer Science. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia and has published extensively in journals, conferences, symposia, and workshops. Dr. Cooper has worked in the early phases of the software development lifecycle in industrial and academic settings. Her research interests center on software and systems engineering (requirements, architecture) and engineering education, via serious games.

Dr. Cooper is the Software Systems Area Editor for the journal Software: Practice and Experience. She organized the ICSE 5th International Workshop on Games and Software Engineering - GAS 2016 (http://2016.gasworkshop.org/)
