Benefits Fair June 30 To Help With Open Enrollment Selections

What is a Pay Flex account and how do I set one up? How is evidence of insurability gathered and reported? What tools are available to help save for retirement?

Have questions? They’ll have the answers.

Human Resources Management is sponsoring a benefits fair from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, in the Galaxy Room (SU 2.602) for all UT Dallas faculty, staff and retirees. A second fair will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Callier Center’s Dallas campus.

Every vendor providing employee benefits will have representatives available to answer questions concerning the various health, life and disability insurance plans offered during open enrollment for fiscal 2009-2010. Open enrollment for benefits runs from July 1 through July 31. Updates to benefit selections can be made by logging on to My UT Benefits.

Changes announced this year include a new provider, Fort Dearborn Life, for short-term and long-term disability insurance. In addition to cutting the cost of monthly out-of-pocket premiums, the carrier is waiving Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for all during open enrollment. That means no health screening is required to be approved for coverage.

Benefits manager Christine Moldenhauer said that this year HRM has set up a triage team, which she described as staffers on hand to take questions and find answers or get back with callers in short order. Call Human Resources Management at extension 2221 to speak with a benefits representative or member of the annual enrollment triage team.
