UT Dallas: Creating the Future Since 1969
Professor Emeritus of botany Dr. C.L. Lundell (left) stands with Warren Gould amidst the blackland prairie of northern Dallas County where UT Dallas eventually sprouted. Lundell was a benefactor to both UT Dallas and UT Austin, and Gould served as a director of Development and University Relations at UT Dallas.

In the early 1970s, Margaret and Eugene McDermott look at a model of future construction on campus, including the Eugene McDermott Library, with Bryce Jordan (right), the first president of UT Dallas.
This fall, UT Dallas marks 40 years as a part of the University of Texas System.
Through the decades, students, faculty and staff have seen the University grow from a small research institute to a University aspiring toward the ranks of the best in the nation.
To mark its 40th year, the University is asking former and current students, faculty, staff, and the community at large, to share UT Dallas memorabilia.
Suggested items for submission include:
- Photographs.
- Documents, such as papers, books or memoirs.
- Objects, large or small.
Items offered are subject to review for relevance and appropriateness. Original photos or documents will be scanned and returned to the lender, and all other memorabilia will be cataloged as a temporary loan.
If lenders are unable to bring an item to the University, arrangements may be made to review the item at an off campus location. Similarly, if a donor is unable to release an item to the collection, it can be photographed or scanned and returned.
Please contact Tom Koch for more information about submitting your memorabilia.
