The ability to read, write, speak and understand English is essential for success in graduate studies at UT Dallas. If your native language is not English and you have been educated outside of the United States, you must submit an acceptable Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination score or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score. Educational Testing Services (ETS) administers the TOEFL. At the time you enroll, the test score must be less than two years old. A minimum score is required for unconditional, regular admission as a graduate student. UT Dallas considers students with lower scores but advises applicants to improve their test scores and reapply.
