Chinese Language Proficiency Tests
The Confucius Institute at UT Dallas is an authorized testing site for the following Chinese Language Proficiency Tests:
- HSK:
HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), often dubbed "Chinese TOEFL," is an international standard test to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers engaged in daily life and social activities.
2012 Test Dates: 4/14, 5/20
HSK Registration Form ; Fees - BCT:
BCT (The Business Chinese Test) is a state-level standard test established to assess non-native speakers' capabilities of applying Chinese language in business environment.
2011 Test Date: 11/6
BCT Registration Form - YCT:
YCT (The Youth Chinese Test) is an international test designed to assess Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers from K-12 graders.

Chinese Test Summer Camp and Scholarship
In order to encourage the positivity of overseas students to learn Chinese and take part in Chinese language proficiency tests, the Headquarters of the Confucius Institute sets up a project Chinese Test Summer Camp from 2008. All examination candidates who take the above-mentioned tests abroad are eligible to apply for the Chinese Test Camp. Winner will go to China in summer to learn Chinese in designated schools for 3 weeks. The Headquarters covers most of study expenses like tuition, boarding, meals, etc. in China except for international flight.
Candidates who are non-Chinese citizens with outstanding scores may be awarded with the Confucius Institute Scholarships as well. Winners will be granted scholarships to study in China for one academic year, one semester, or one month respectively.
