- Project description: In preparation for an upcoming retrospective exhibition on Marsden Hartley, Sarah Ellis-Cardona conducted extensive research on the artist’s 18 month stay in Mexico. Little is known about how he spent his time in Mexico or who he had contact with, and archives were accessed in both countries in order to determine the type of influence his time in Mexico had on his painting.
