History

In just two years the Confucius Institute has achieved a wide range of cultural, educational and artistic success:

In the Fall of 2007, UT Dallas became the home to to one of 21 U.S.-based non-profit institutes designed to promote Chinese language and culture by forming a branch of The Confucius Institute. The center is housed within the School of Arts & Humanities. UT Dallas was able to be designated as a Confucius institute site because of a 100k grant from the China Ministry of Education. The center is now self-sustaining through grants, fundraising activities and the collection of fees for services/classes/artistic performances.
