DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Pep Band: Although a bass clarinet or an oboe could play in this group, the UT Dallas Pep Band is mostly comprised of flutes (piccolo), clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, baritones, tubas, drummers, and percussionists (bells, cymbals, etc.). This performing group will provide music for a variety of events on campus throughout the year, which will be, at times, athletic, academic, or extracurricular in nature. This is a one-credit course which will meet once each week. Our scheduled time for rehearsals is 7pm on Thursday evenings. Due to the nature of the unusual schedules for these events, there will be some flexibility with required performances.

Music will be provided.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

You must contact the instructor to participate. Email: winston.stone@utdallas.edu. We provide drums and percussion equipment (and a very limited number of other instruments), but otherwise, you should plan to provide your own instrument or be able to rent one.
