Course Title:
Exploration of the Arts

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This course introduces students to the physical and intellectual demands required of the author, the performer, and the visual artist. This introduction includes, but is not limited to, the students' production of a creative project as well as written assessments of art and performance. Topics will include painting, sculpture, architecture, film, photography, theater, literature, and the interdisciplinary nature of the creative arts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

There will be four written assignments in the form of two "Event Papers" and two "Critiques" from four disciplines, which would include painting, sculpture, music, theater, and dance. In addition to the creative presentation mentioned above, there will be at least seven quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam. Regular attendance is required. There are no pre-requisites or co-requisites required for this class.
