Guitar Ensemble

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

MUSI 3380 or Guitar II is an ensemble based class which is contining under the numbers of MUSI 3380 in the Fall and MUSI 4346 in the Spring Semester. A portion of the class will be continuing students that re-enroll and others will come form Guitar I which serves as the pre-requisite to ensemble guitar curriculum at UTD.
An ensemble needs to perform as a whole thus perfect attendance is rewarded with A+ on that portion of the final grade. Grades are based on preparation and performance in class and a balance between the two is adjusted and reflected in the final grade.
MUSI 3380 will perform as part of the UTD Fall Festival.

REQUIRED TEXTS:

Solo Guitar Playing Noad, Pumping Nylon Tennant, class handouts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

A classical nylon string guitar, and a footrest.
Two concert reports of approximately two pages each will be required of each student. A mid-term and final exam will be administered which will have both a written section and a playing section.
