Course Title:
Guitar Ensemble

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Pre-requisite is Guitar I. Permission of instructor is required for this course.

Music for guitar ensemble and guitar orchestra is practiced in this course. The course is organized to advance the technical and musical capacity of all participants. All participants learn to perform ensemble from a variety of historical periods and musical perspectives.
A classical or guitar with nylon strings fitted is required for this course. UTD has guitars available for use in this class, there is a limited supply so please contact the instructor as you have a need or interest in using one of these guitars which you will both enjoy using, and will help your studies in this class.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Class participation and at home preparation are requirements in this course. Two concert reports/summaries are required. Consult the UTD Guitar Series where you will find a number of opportunities to accomplish this course requirement.
A final performance in which all participants perform as an ensemble is featured in this course.
