Course Title
Elements of Art and Performance

Description of Course:

We will study the artistic process from theoretical and practical perspectives.

Theories about theater, music, dance, visual art, video, and performance art will be studied and applied in simple artistic experiments.

The class will be a laboratory for investigating basic elements that contribute to the making of art. We will watch videos of theater, dance, and visual art; listen to music; attend live performances; and have an adventure at the museum.

Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:

Attendance, readings, participation in discussions and exercises, artistic projects and papers, a final creative project and paper. Participants will attend and review live performances and a museum.
