Course Title:
Jazz Ensemble I

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Jazz Band I is a large playing ensemble, whose repertoire draws from a wide range of jazz big band styles. Players have an opportunity to play swing, rock, funk, latin, and other styles. The band plays a major concert at the end of each semester, as well as several performances each semester at various campus venues and events.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

To enroll in the class, you must be able to play an instrument and have experience reading music. Students must provide their own instruments. UTD jazz band does provide amps, keyboards, drum set, congas, and bari sax.
