DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This course will be a survey of Shakespeare's work, with a focus on his early career. We will read eight plays and pay some attention to film adaptations of those plays.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Careful reading of the assigned texts, active class participation, one=page response papers, one short paper (3-5 pages), and three exams. Assignments may include a brief presentation.
