Course Title:
The Latin American Novel

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

In this graduate seminar we will study the twentieth-century Latin American novel and its relationships to major political and intellectual currencies in the region and beyond. In addition to the novels, we will read relevant history, theory, and criticism. Readings will be in English.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Four précis (7.5% each), four short papers (15% each), participation (10%).
