Beginning Jazz Dance

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

In this class, students will study jazz dance technique at a beginning level. Jazz dance will be taught through the practice of technique, supplemented with attendance at performances and viewing of videos.

REQUIRED TEXTS:

none required

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Student evaluation will be based on quality of participation, attendance, individual improvement, and writing assignments. The student must attend two live dance performances and write an analysis using the guidelines handed out in class.

Students will need appropriate dancewear for this class.
