Course Title:
Intermediate Ballet Dance

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

In this class students will study ballet dance technique at a beginning II/intermediate level. Ballet will be taught through the practice of technique, supplemented with attendance of live performances, and viewing of videos.

none required

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Student evaluation will be based on quality of participation, attendance, individual improvement, and writing assignments. Performance analysis and attendance at two dance performances is required. Specific movements must be accomplished and the student should have a strong ballet vocabulary by the completion of the course. Oral, physical, or written quizzes may be given to evaluate these skills.

Probable Grade Breakdown:

40% Participation, individual improvement
20% Attendance
20% Performance attendance and written critiques
10% Skill and vocabulary
10% Final Project

Prerequisite: 3 semesters of DANC 2331 Beginning Ballet or permission of the instructor.
