Course Title:
Beginning Spanish I

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Beginning Spanish I allows beginning language learners to hear Spanish and experience its cultural and linguistic diversity both in the classroom and online. The text, Gente: nivel básico, utilizes a task-based content-based approach, incorporates culture, and introduces students to authentic language material (realia) through use of state-of-the-art online technology that create a 24/7 active language-in-culture environment.

Students enrolling in 1311 are not required to have any previous Spanish. All students, however, regardless of their background or previous language experience, must take the online placement exam located here: http://www.utdallas.edu/ah/students/language_placement.html.
Students must provide their score to advisers and bring them the first day of class.
