Course Title:
Beginning Spanish II

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Beginning Spanish II builds on Beginning Spanish I by allowing beginning language learners to continue to hear and practice Spanish and experience its cultural and linguistic diversity both in the classroom and online. The text, Gente: nivel básico, utilizes a task-based content-based approach, incorporates culture, and introduces students to authentic language material (realia) through use of state-of-the-art online technology that create a 24/7 active language-in-culture environment.

Students enrolling in 1312 must have completed Spanish 1311 at UTD or its equivalent at another college or university. All other students, regardless of their background or previous language experience, must take the online placement exam located here:

Students must provide their score to advisers and bring them the first day of class
