Intermediate Spanish I

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

Intermediate Spanish I builds on Beginning Spanish I and II, both in the classroom and online, introducing learners to more advanced vocabulary and structures, while at the same time reinforcing language acquired in 1311 and 1312. The text, Gente: nivel intermedio, utilizes a task-based content-based approach, incorporates culture, and introduces students to authentic language material (realia) through use of state-of-the-art online technology that create a 24/7 active language-in-culture environment.

Students enrolling in 2311 must have completed Spanish 1312 at UTD or its equivalent at another college or university. All other students, regardless of their background or previous language experience, must take the online placement exam located here:

Students must provide their score to advisers and bring them the first day of class.
