DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This course is an introductory class presenting a concise overview of classical finger-style
guitar designed for the beginning and early intermediate student. The student will develop a rudimentary understanding of classic guitar style,skills will include accurate tuning,proper technique and hand position,basic chords,music recognition and basic theory,and a brief study of guitar history and important performers.

REQUIRED TEXTS:

Solo Guitar Playing: Frederick Noad, Book I-4th ed. ISBN-978-0-8256-3679-0
Students will also need a workable guitar,a limited number are available for rental,an approved tuning source and a footstool or guitar support.
