Course Title:
Exploration of the Arts

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This course introduces students to the physical and intellectual demands required of the author, the performer, and the visual artist. This introduction includes, but is not limited to, the students' production of a creative project as well as written assessments of art and performance. Topics will include painting, sculpture, architecture, film, photography, theater, literature, music, and the interdisciplinary nature of the creative arts.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

There will be two critiques and two "Event Papers" from four disciplines, which would include, but not limited to, painting, theater, music, and dance. In addition to a creative final presentation, there will be at least seven quizzes, and two exams. Regular attendance is required. There are no prerequisites or co-requisites required for this class.
