DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This seminar is a graduate-level introduction to Latin Americanism that will explore its origins and development as well as its main currents and contradictions. NOTE: All readings will be in English or English translation, and knowledge of Spanish is not required.

REQUIRED TEXTS:

Books will be available at Off-Campus Books and the UT Dallas Bookstore.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Class participation (25%); class presentation (25%); final paper (50%)
