DESCRIPTION OF COURSE:

This course is an introductory class presenting a concise overview of classical finger-style guitar designed for the beginning and early intermediate student. The student will develop a rudimentary understanding of classical guitar style, skills will include accurate tuning proper technique and hand position, basic chords music recognition and basic theory and a brief study of guitar history and important performers.

REQUIRED TEXTS:

Solo Guitar Playing/Book 1 forth ed.- Frederick Noad ISBN-978-0-8256-3679-0
Students will also need a workable guitar, a limited number are available for rental, an approved tuning source and a footstool or guitar support.
