Beginning Spanish II

Description of Course:

Beginning Spanish II builds on Beginning Spanish I by allowing beginning language learners to continue to hear and practice Spanish and experience its cultural and linguistic diversity both in the classroom and online. The text utilizes a communicative approach, incorporates culture, and introduces students to authentic language material through use of state-of-the-art online technology that create a 24/7 active language-in-culture environment.

Prerequisite: Spanish 1311 at UTD, equivalent credit from another college or university, appropriate AP or CLEP score.

All students, regardless of their background or previous language experience, must take the online placement exam located here:*

Students must enroll in the course that corresponds to their score, provide their score to advisers to enroll in that course, and bring them the first day of class.

*Exceptions include those who have took Spanish 1311 at UTD, are transferring credit, or have taken the AP or CLEP exam.
