|Elements of Art and Performance
Description of Course:
We will study aspects of the artistic process from theoretical and practical perspectives.
Theories about theater, music, dance, visual art, video, and performance art will be studied and applied in simple artistic experiments.
The class will be a laboratory for investigating basic elements that contribute to the making of art. We will watch videos of theater, dance, and visual art; listen to music; and attend live performances.

Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:
Attendance, readings, participation in discussions and exercises, artistic projects and papers, a final creative project or scholarly paper. Participants will individually attend and review live performances.
