Understanding Art

Description of Course:

A sweeping survey of global art through six millenia using, as portals onto these diverse worlds, works of art in the permanent collections of DFW Art Museums. Taught as a series of lectures, students are encouraged to visit DFW museums on their own time, using prompted assignments to guide their visits. No knowledge of art history is required, but a curiosity about human history is a must.
