Dis-Location is a meta-gallery created by the artist by intertwining two unique gallery spaces into one show. A virtual gallery was digitally fabricated for the viewer to experience the show in their mind, while the physical allows the viewer to experience the exhibition through physical movement in space.

Dis-Location emphasizes the viewer’s experience moving through space. The artist has created two distinct gallery spaces resulting in a specific focus on:  the relationship between virtual and physical spaces; and changes which the viewer experiences when exploring these arenas. The virtual gallery was designed, created, and coded by the artist as a way to customize the space and permanently document the show. This computer-generated gallery allows viewers to move through the space in their mind, regardless of whether they are physically present or not. The physical gallery space gives viewers an opportunity to experience the show in a tangible way, not only with their minds, but also with their bodies, as they literally move through the exhibition. The artist has chosen to project a looping fly-through video of the virtual space to represent the digital aspect of her project in the physical exhibition. The varying spaces are connected through movement, which remains the dominant element present in the photographs displayed in both galleries.
