AUDITION INFORMATION

All drums and cymbals will be provided. You must bring your own sticks, music, and practice pad (for warming up). We will not have extra sticks or music for you to use. Part of the audition will take place outside, so be sure your music is secured in a binder.

Though snares will ultimately play traditionally on a tilted drum, snare drummers may audition playing matched or traditional grip, flat or tilted, whichever you are most comfortable with.

The audition music is included in the audition packet, which for copyright reasons will be emailed to your UTD email account upon receipt of your audition registration form.

AUDITION HELP SESSION

We will hold a help session on Tuesday, September 12, 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. for anyone interested in auditioning. All drums and cymbals will be provided. You must bring your own sticks and music. We will not have extra sticks or music for you to use. The session will take place outside, so be sure your music is secured in a binder. You may come or go as you please, the session is to help you prepare your audition. The help session will be located at the Golf House out by Lot T Overflow. Email Lori Gerard at [email protected] with any questions.

*There is no front ensemble. Sorry. If mallets and/or concert percussion are your thing and you do not wish to play a battery instrument, then check out the UT Dallas Wind Ensemble (MUSI 3120). Also, percussion ensemble takes place during the Spring semester. Percussion Ensemble will be listed in Coursebook as “MUSI 4V12: Adv Perf I - Percussion Ens” when the Spring 2018 Course Offerings are published.
