Jeff Stover began his academic studies in theatre at Collin College. In his short time there, the program quickly grew into a nationally recognized program. Shortly after leaving Collin College, Jeff went to work at Vari-Lite, the Dallas based company that invented robotic lighting. Being a professional, well-respected company, they recognized his thirst for knowledge and devotion to his work and the company promoted him from intern to lead technician on the VL-6 luminaire. His successful career allowed him to finish his bachelor's degree at U.N.L.V. in Las Vegas, while continuing to work for Vari-Lite.

Jeff was hired as Technical Director for the University Theatre at UT Dallas in 1999. Since then, he has made the University Theatre one of the most technologically advanced spaces in the area. In the fall of 2008, Jeff was moved to the position of Director of Theatre/Dance. He has been instrumental in the creation of the theatre/dance minor and is very involved in recruiting students to the program. Jeff teaches an array of courses in technical theatre, designs the theatre productions, as well as handling the every day business required of the director.

Jeff also works as a lighting designer for local and national theatre companies. He uses his professional contacts to develop student internships at various theatres in the area. Jeff has won numerous awards for his design work in the area and is a respected theatre professional.
