Currently The University of Texas at Dallas offers both a BA and an MA in Emerging Media and Communication.
Bachelor of Arts in Emerging Media and Communication
In an era of continuous, ubiquitous, mobile communicating, a new generation of media developers is needed. The Emerging Media and Communication area of concentration recognizes the need for media makers versed in the shifting technologies the new media environment of the 21st Century. Areas of production and research include social media, design and web production, mobile design, virtual worlds and emerging game forms. Beyond introducing students to the cutting edge of emerging media technologies and practices, the program also provides a strong foundation built on collaborative skills, theoretical breadth, historical context and ethical sensitivity.

Master of Arts in Emerging Media and Communication
The media landscape has dramatically shifted, and new knowledge, new ways of acquiring knowledge and new collaborative digital skills are required to be successful in this new era. Media makers of all varieties will need to develop the tools and skills necessary to make and understand digital networked media. The Emerging Media and Communication Masters degree attracts students looking to practice new media as well as understand the way it is transforming our culture.
