Important Deadlines

Deadlines for Proposals, Defenses, and Final Submissions

All proposals should be submitted to your individual committee members for their approval at least one week before the submission deadline. Otherwise, you can not expect faculty members to read and approve drafts in time to meet deadlines.

All proposals must be submitted as an email attachment sent to alice.salazar1@utdallas.edu. All signature pages must be submitted in hard copy.

Spring 2012 ----------------------------------------------

January 4	Proposals for Portfolios, Theses, Casebooks, and Dissertations due in the A & H Office (for GSC consideration on 18 January) (This is the last date for proposals from students expecting to graduate in the Spring term.)
January 25	Applications for Graduation due in the Registrar's Office.
February 22	Proposals for Portfolios, Theses, Casebooks, and Dissertations due in the A & H Office (for GSC consideration on 7 March) (Students submitting proposals on this date will graduate in summer or later terms.)
March 2	Last day for submission of final draft of dissertations to all members of the supervising committee. Doctoral students who do not meet this deadline will not graduate this semester.
March 23	Last day for submission of final draft of portfolios, theses or casebooks to all members of the supervising committee. Master's students who do not meet this deadline will not graduate this semester.
March 30	Last day to request oral defense of portfolios, theses, casebooks, dissertations
April 4	Proposals for Portfolios, Theses, Casebooks, and Dissertations due in the A & H Office (for GSC consideration on 18 April) (Students submitting proposals on this date will graduate in summer or later terms.)
April 13	Last day for defense of portfolios, theses, casebooks, and dissertations
April 20	Last day for final submissions of dissertations (to the Office of the Graduate Dean)
April 26	Last day for final submissions of portfolios or casebooks (to the A & H office) and theses (to the Office of the Graduate Dean)
May 16 - 19	Doctoral Hooding Ceremony & Spring Commencement

Summer 2012 ----------------------------------------------

May 23	Proposals for Portfolios, Theses, Casebooks, and Dissertations due in the A & H Office (for GSC consideration on 6 June). (This is the only submission date for students wishing to graduate in the Summer 2012 semester.)
June 11	Applications for Graduation due in the Registrar's Office
June 13	Last day for submission of final draft of dissertations to all members of the supervising committee. Doctoral students who do not meet this deadline will not graduate this semester.
June 20	Last day for submission of final draft of portfolios, theses or casebooks to all members of the supervising committee. Master's students who do not meet this deadline will not graduate this semester.
June 29	Last day for requests for oral defense of dissertations, theses, portfolios, and casebooks
July 13	Last day for defense of dissertations, theses, portfolios, and casebooks
July 27	Last day for final submissions of dissertations to Office of Graduate Dean.
August 3	Last day for final submissions of theses (to the Office of the Graduate Dean) and portfolios or casebooks (to the A & H Office)
August 17	Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
