Spanish

The School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas does not offer a BA in Spanish, but instead it offers courses in beginning, intermediate, advanced Spanish in addition to courses in Spanish culture and Mexican literature, culture and history. Our aim is to prepare students with a high degree of language competence.

A great degree of emphasis is placed on listening and speaking as well as reading and writing skills, enhanced by a summer program at the University of Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. The scope of the course sequence serves all students and programs of the university and fulfills the students' needs by targeting cross-cultural communication, global awareness, international understanding and cultural pluralism .

Therefore, the program with its innovative, dynamic sequence of courses will ensure that the students will learn the Spanish language and culture successfully, effectively and enjoyably, while it becomes a personal, professional, humanistic and rewarding experience.
