Bilingual Readings

Current Conference | Bilingual Readings Schedule (as of 9.20.13)

Attention ALTA 2013 Bilingual Readers!:
Please contact Alexis Levitin (levitia@plattsburgh.edu) immediately if you have a serious problem with your time slot and to submit your 50-word bio if you have not already done so.

A celebration not only of translation but of literature from around the world, the Bilingual Readings are a unique and extremely popular feature of each ALTA conference. Sessions, which can last up to ninety minutes, are divided into 15-minute segments – or 30 minutes if the author attends. The informality of sessions allows listeners to come and go as they please, although the readings are always well-attended, and many participants stay the entire time.

To participate in the Bilingual Readings taking place at this year’s ALTA conference (October 16-19 in Bloomington, IN), please send an email to Alexis Levitin (levitia@plattsburgh.edu) with the following information by SEPTEMBER 1, 2013: translator’s name, name of the original poet or writer, genre, language of original, author’s original country, and time preferences in case of schedule conflicts.
