¡Declamación!
Come one and all to the eleventh year of Declamación. If you have never attended, don’t miss it; if you have never participated, give it a try. You will be treated to an evening full of poetry, theater, sometimes music, and always surprises, hosted by Barbara Paschke and friends on Friday, October 5, from 8:30 to midnight. The show will begin with those who sign up in advance, followed by an open-mike session, time permitting.
RULES: You must recite from memory (no reading). You may NOT recite poems originally written in English: that is, you may recite English translations (your own or someone else’s) and/or original poems in other languages. You may not recite your own poems — this is a translation conference, after all. Time allotment is approximately five minutes. You can use all the time, or just 30 seconds — it’s up to you. To sign up, email barbara.paschke@ucsf.edu with information on who/what/from where you plan to recite and a one-line bio (and/or any questions you might have). Deadline is the first day of autumn, September 22, 2012.
