¡Declamación!

Come and celebrate a decade of Declamación, which returns for its 10th year. If you have never attended, don’t miss it, and if you have never participated, give it a try. Come for an evening full of poetry, sometimes music, and always surprises, hosted by Barbara Paschke and friends on Friday, November 18, from 8:30 to midnight. The evening will begin with those who sign up in advance. Time-permitting, an open-mike session will follow.

RULES: You must recite from memory (no reading). You may NOT recite poems originally written in English: that is, you may recite English translations (your own or someone else’s) and/or original poems in other languages. You may not recite your own poems — this is a translation conference, after all. Time allotment is approximately five minutes. You can use all the time, or just 30 seconds — it’s up to you. To sign up, email barbara.paschke@ucsf.edu with information on who/what/from where you plan to recite and a one-line bio (and/or any questions you might have). Deadline is November 1, 2011.
