Celebrate Friday the 13th with an exciting evening of Declamacion, which returns for its 8th year. If you have never attended,
don't miss it, and if you have never participated, give it a try. Join us for an evening full of poetry, sometimes music, and sure to be full of surprises, hosted by Barbara Paschke and friends on Friday night from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The event will begin with those who sign up in advance;
time permitting, an open-mike session will follow.
Here are the
RULES: you must recite from memory (
no reading). You may NOT recite poems originally written in English: that is, you may recite English translations (your own or someone else’s) and/or original poems in other languages. You may not recite your own poems—this is a translation conference, after all. Time allotment is about five minutes. You can use all the time, or just 30 seconds – it’s up to you. To sign up, e-mail
Barbara.paschke@ucsf.edu with information on who/what/from where you plan to recite and a one-line bio (and/or any questions you might have). Deadline is October 26.
