Bio: Alta L. Price was born in Central New York and became enamored of Italian and German literature while studying the fine arts in the United States and Europe. Her translation career initially focused on art and architecture criticism, until a wild anthology project with Umberto Eco drove her back into literary work. Her chief clients include book publishers and individual authors of all stripes.

Professional Affiliations and Certifications: ATA, NYCT

Education: MFA from Hunter College, CUNY; BFA with honors from RISD; additional German language and Italian Literature classes at Brown University.

Awards: Gutekunst Translation Prize, 2013
