Translationum
The Index Translationum is a UNESCO project (www.unesco.org/culture/translationum) that is the most comprehensive bibliography of translations in the world. Created in 1932, it contains over 3 million entries — with more than 1.7 million of them available for free online — that cover all disciplines, including literature, social and human sciences, natural and exact sciences, art, and history, among others.
The Index Translationum’s online database allows users to define parameters and enter data for books translated and published since 1979; the database can also produce statistics that chart the changing nature of the production and publication of translations in approximately 100 countries. Records of books translated and published prior to 1979 are available in printed form in volumes that are stored in depository libraries around the world and in the UNESCO Library in Paris.
