East Division Title For First Time In Program History

The UTD women's basketball team – a program that has never had a winning season and qualified for the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament just once in its 10-year history – is right in the thick of the chase for the ASC East Division crown this year. The Comets were within one game of the division lead with just eight games remaining in the regular season. UTD’s young but talented squad – which includes sophomore Lauren Hale (pictured) – is 10-7 and needs just two more wins to post its best record ever.
Comets Making Strong Run at Fifth Straight Post-Season Appearance

The UT Dallas men's basketball team is off to another fast start and is closing in on perhaps its best record ever with just a few weeks left in the regular season. The Comets, who were 13-4 and 9-3 in conference with eight games left, look to be strong contenders at qualifying for their fifth straight American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament behind a balanced attack that includes high-scoring reserve Scott Rodgers (pictured). UTD finishes the season with five of its last six games on the road, but plays its final home game of the season Saturday, Feb. 16, against LeTourneau.
