The work of sculptor Faith Gay and painter Ruben Nieto transforms everyday space into “ludic space,” or “play space.” It comes in a spectrum of bright colors. Using toys in unexpected and unorthodox ways, both artists collide abstraction into fanciful play.

Throughout Special Agent Casey’s career, he climbed the ranks of the FBI in the traditional manner from special agent to field supervisor on up. In 1986 Casey entered the FBI and was transferred to Phoenix, Arizona, and then to Washington, D.C., Chicago and Miami. In 2006, he landed in Dallas as Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Office.

Opening Reception: Vicious Pink
November 29, 2008 at 6-9 p.m.
Centraltrak, 800 Exposition Ave., Dallas
“From frill to foe hitting the norms of pink in the head.” Curated by Mary Benedicto, this exhibition pushes pink from the subversive to the hyperreal. Artists enlist pink materials to the hilt while straddling the line between high art and camp. Vicious Pink hopes to assert that high art and camp can co-exist. The show offers thoughtful commentary on the use of pink through symbolic references, material and design.
Exhibition dates: November 29, 2008 - January 20, 2009.
