On September 4, 2008, 55 people assembled at the McDermott Suite at UT Dallas to recognize the 2008 recipients of the Ericsson Scholarship. Nineteen students were awarded the scholarship, with 11 from The Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, six from the School of Management, and two from the Academic Bridge Program. This is the first year the scholarship has been awarded to students in the Academic Bridge Program. The purpose of the event was to not only recognize the scholarship recipients but also for Ericsson to interact with the students. The event was attended by Ericsson executives, UT Dallas staff and faculty, and the scholarship recipients.
