This year's Homecoming festivities were all about basketball, and the UT Dallas men's and women's basketball teams didn't disapoint. The Comet men and women both won their February 5 games against Louisiana College. The Comet women then went on to win against Mississippi College on February 7, while the Comet men lost their game against the Mississippi College men's team. If you haven't attended a Comet basketball game this season, you're in luck. Both the men's and women's teams won their ASC East Division titles, which means they're advancing to play in ASC Championship Tournaments.
In addition to the basketball games, UT Dallas welcomed alumni back to campus with the annual casino night and Homecoming parade. The parade was a sight not to be missed, with lots of creativity flowing through the many decade-themed floats and performances, including this special performance by UT Dallas staff members (some of whom are alumni!).
On February 4, UT Dallas Alumni Relations invited all alumni to watch the Dallas Mavericks edge out the Portland Trail Blazers, 104-99 at American Airlines Center. In the above photo are Mary Morin (BS '82), Dru Amand (BS '82), and Mary's sister Sandra. Mary and Dru met while students at UT Dallas and have kept in contact through the years. Dru happened to be in town over Homecoming week and the Dallas Mavericks game gave her the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends! Thanks to all of the alumni who came out to make it a great night for connecting with fellow UT Dallas alumni.
