Steve Whiffen (BA '84) was recently approved by the Forney Independent School District Board of Trustees to be the new principal at Forney High School. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of education, including seven years of experience as a high school principal. He currently serves as the principal for the Arts, Law and Sciences Magnet School and is an assistant principal at Richardson High School in the Richardson Independent School District. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from UT Dallas and also has a master’s degree in education from the former East Texas State University, now Texas A&M-Commerce.
John Pinkerton (BSEE '87) recently joined Dallas trial law firm Rose Walker, LLP, as partner. He is an intellectual property lawyer with a lengthy career that includes service in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Following his graduation from UT Dallas, he earned his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his master of laws degree in patent and trade regulation law from The George Washington University.
Darrell Carpenter (MS '91) recently became senior vice president of finance for imc2, a leading digital marketing agency. With more than 20 years of financial experience, including planning and analysis, accounting, risk management and investor relations, he will lead all financial responsibilities for the agency. He has a master's degree in management and administrative sciences from UT Dallas and is also a certified public accountant.
Nina Villamil (BS '00) a certified public accountant, was recently recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of accounting. She has 11 years of experience in accounting, working in both public accounting and private industry. She is currently an independent consultant specializing in acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring. In 2000, she received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UT Dallas. She is also a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Michael Jenney (BA '08) is a frequent contributing writer to examiner.com. His articles are generally about arts and entertainment with a focus on the public's obsession with pop culture. He graduated from UT Dallas in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
