The “Memories on the Mall” program recently kicked off, welcoming the University’s newest alumni at graduation ceremonies Dec. 17 and 18. More than 1,800 graduates made their way through orange and green balloon columns to the newly enhanced campus mall, where the Office of Development and Alumni Relations provided a gift to new alumni, photo opportunities with family and friends, and an official Comets alumni benefit card.

“‘Memories on the Mall’ is a meaningful way to welcome each new graduate into the alumni community from day one and create a fun event that celebrates this milestone,” said Director of Alumni Relations Erin Dougherty.

A favorite item among the group was the alumni benefit card. “As soon as our new graduates received their diplomas, we were there to tell them about their special UT Dallas discounts and privileges,” Dougherty said.

Plans to expand “Memories on the Mall” offerings for spring graduation are already under way. “We’ll set up additional photo opportunities and utilize more of the campus mall,” Dougherty explained. “Each school will also be invited to host a table on the mall during its commencement ceremony.”
