The Center for Translation Studies

The Center for Translation Studies is a vital academic program in the School of Arts & Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas, which works to: 1) Chart innovative ways to study the art and craft of translation 2) Develop interdisciplinary thinking throughout the arts and humanities 3) Revitalize the study of world literature and the humanities through the integration of translation studies 4) Promote groundbreaking research in the practice and theory of translation 5) Link translation to the digital age, and build bridges between the humanities and the sciences to respond to the needs of a globalized world in the 21st century.

Confucius Institute

In 2007, The University of Texas at Dallas established the first Confucius Institute in Texas. It's purpose is to increase mutual respect and cooperation specifically between the people of China and the Southwest region by promoting the study of China’s language, history and culture.
