Regional Accreditation (SACS COC)

The University of Texas at Dallas is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC) to award baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation status of The University of Texas at Dallas.

The accreditation recognizes that the university meets the specified criteria most often associated with effective universities that exhibit a high degree of institutional effectiveness and integrity. UT Dallas' accreditation was most recently reaffirmed in December 2008, signaling its fundamental soundness in the areas of faculty qualifications, curriculum, student services, libraries, and financial stability. Eligibility for federal support of student financial aid and other programs depends in part on accreditation.

The reaffirmation process in an exhaustive one and includes a comprehensive Compliance Certification for each of the SACS COC Principles of Accreditation along with supporting documentation and a Quality Enhancement Plan. In short, the reaffirmation process requires that an institution examine every aspect of its operations. UT Dallas' Compliance Certification Reports are located here.
