Mission and Vision

The Arts and Technology (ATEC) program at the University of Texas at Dallas merges the innovation processes of artists, scientists and engineers.

ATEC explores their experimental models through new technologies. It augments the study of the arts and humanities by engagement with the research tools, measures and practices of the sciences and technology. ATEC offers degree programs from the BA through the Ph.D. that prepare more than 1,100 students to achieve in fields of e-culture design, research and development.

A complementary major, Emerging Media and Communication (EMAC), focuses on the uses, impact and implications of digital technology for communication, culture and commerce.
