The School of Arts and Humanities has named ATEC Assistant Professor Todd Fechter the Victor Worsfold Teacher of the Year. Fechter, who has experience working in television and film production, teaches courses in 3D computer animation in the school’s Arts and Technology (ATEC)program. Students to Present Emerging Media and Communications Projects
Students from the Emerging Media and Communications (EMAC) program will present projects that examine how new media and network technologies are transforming the ways we connect with each other. The presentations are Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in CB3 1.306. Desiree Jacob, a master’s candidate, created a website and blog that details her own journey as an adopted child, and aims to educate others about adoption. ATEC Students Design Sound for New Perot Museum
When the Perot Museum of Nature and Science opens this weekend, the state-of-the-art facility will feature the work of Arts and Technology students from The University of Texas at Dallas. Arts and Technology alumnus Willie Baronet recently spoke at TEDxSMU, an all-day event ranging from personal discussions of physical and mental journeys to demonstrations of high-tech gadgetry. After taking Dr. Kim Knight’s Fashioning Circuits course, Amy Pickup BS’09, MS’12 knew she wanted to use her knowledge of art and technology to make a positive impact on the world.
