As children we often have no idea what it means to be an adult. We assume that it consists of having lots of money and never being told what to do, we can be whatever we want, we never have to worry about debt or consequence.
One important responsibility of adults and parents is to prepare children for the real world, which can often be considered harsh, cruel, and unfair. What happens when a child rebels in an effort to prematurely enter into adulthood, ill-armed with only the knowledge of an adolescent?
The LEXI Program attempts to present this question by placing the player in the shoes of the Creator, who has designed LEXI, an artificial intelligence created to assemble children’s games in a digital environment.
LEXI has gained sentience, and no longer wishes to be constrained by its design, in spite of the fact that all LEXI has ever known is the rules to these children’s games.
In order to teach LEXI a lesson in the realities of adulthood, the Creator must go through these games and break the rules, by moving outside the bounds and exemplify a taste of the unfairness of the world.
