Naming Opportunities in the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building

The Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology building is home to the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication (ATEC), a multidisciplinary academic research school that inspires students, faculty, staff and the public to think critically and creatively about the complex relationships between culture and technologies. Naming opportunities for spaces throughout the 155,000-square-foot building in the center of campus are available to those who want to support this innovative school.

Minimum gift amounts may be pledged over a number of years, and donors may choose to permanently endow their gift for long-term support for the school. All naming gifts will support ATEC and may be used to support the purchase of equipment and software, funding for visiting scholars and underwriting support for special exhibitions, performances or speakers.

Opportunities

Student Lounges

Student lounges provide spaces for collaboration outside the classroom. Each lounge is approximately 400 square feet.

Green Room

Located backstage in the lecture hall, the green room serves as the private preparation space for the world-class leaders in art, science and technology who speak at special University lectures and events.

Exhibition Areas

Multiple exhibition areas showcase works by ATEC students and faculty, as well as special visiting exhibitions. The glass walls of the building allow passersby a peek at student and faculty artwork.

Terrace Study Lounges

Two study areas, both overlooking the expansive atrium from a second-floor perch, provide a unique setting to study between classes or find creative inspiration.

Conference Rooms

Two conference rooms are available to students, faculty, staff and guests for private meetings. Approximately 400 to 850 square feet, these rooms are located on the first and third floors of the building.

Games and Media Library

This space houses more than a thousand digital and analog games spanning multiple game platforms, including both classics and new releases. Used by students and faculty for research and learning, the 300-square-foot library is located on the third floor.

Research Labs and Creative Practice Studios

The vibrant lab and studio culture at ATEC encourages students and faculty to collaborate on Intentional Future-Making through their imagination, scholarship, research, and creative practice. Labs and studios explore the areas of Animation & Games, Art & Science, Communication & Culture, Critical Media Studies, Design & Technology, and Emerging Media Art.

Loge Reception Spaces

Adjacent to the lecture hall, two expansive loge areas on the first and second floors provide bright and airy space for private events and public receptions. Each space is more than 800 square feet.

Specialty Classrooms

Specialty classrooms dedicated to 3D printmaking, photography, drawing, and sculpture and painting allow students and faculty to develop their creative practice. Each of these four areas has been allocated approximately 1,500 square feet, providing four naming opportunities at this level.

Atrium Steps

Designed as a meeting place for students between classes, the atrium steps provide a functional space for presentations, seminars and photo opportunities.

Courtyard

This open-air courtyard is an inspiring and signature space. It accommodates receptions, as well as offers a place for quiet conversation or reflection between classes. This venue is also home to the Love Jack, a 10-by-10-foot red, steel sculpture that remains a campus icon.
